It’s actually dangerous to be en pointe and dancing with highly-laced ribbons - or no ribbons at all (unless you have thick, doubled over elastics). This is because the pointe shoe isn’t directly secured to the foot which could result in it wobbling about and cause some serious ankle injury. Ribbons should be crossed over once and then wrapped around the ankle. This stabilises the ankle, secures the pointe shoe to the feet and reduces risk of sickling and winging which would damage ankles. :)
If you want to highly lace ribbons, I suggest getting REALLY long ribbons and secure them like you normally would, tie a knot, then lace them up to the knee. Hope this helps. :)
